Third Party Hosted Sites are Free or low cost and don’t require you to have design Skills. It may be great for individuals wanting to setup personal websites to share with their friends and families, but its not recommended for businesses. Third-Party Hosted websites maybe free to use or cheaper, they do not however offer you full customization of your website besides some color changes and other limited customizations such as changing fondt size and type. 

Some providers would not allow you to backup your sites and would require you to place their ads on your site to make for their free services for you. There are tons more disadvantages using Free Third-Party Hosted websites. The Self-Hosted is the exact opposite.
